Hey Guys!<br />
<br />
&nbsp;<br />
<br />
The weather is warming up lately. Why don&#8217;t you get out of Tokyo and discover something new? I would personally suggest Yokohama. A lot of people tend to forget how great Yokohama is.<br />
<br />
Have you ever heard of this lovely garden in Yokohama called &#8216;Sankeien&#8217;? Not only the garden is so beautiful and elegant. There are countless  historical Japanese architectures too.<br />

<div>Are you a live-music enthusiast? Do you attend gigs and concerts often? Do you prefer to see the artists perform up close and in front of a limited crowd? Are you planning to treat your loved ones to a special evening of enchanted music? If your answer to all of the above is yes, then the Tokyo Cotton Club is just the place for you (if you happen to be here).</p>
<p>The club is located inside the Tokia Building in Marunouchi (near Tokyo station) and boasts a cosy stage with a superb sound system and lighting. It is one of the hottest places to meet artists of all genres (Rock, Pop, Jazz, Disco, R&amp;B, Ethnic, Reggae etc.). They have a steady stream of artists performing every week (both local and foreign). Do not be surprised to find some big label artists, as well as some really rare ones. The artists perform a few feet away from the audience, sometimes encouraging guests to participate in choruses.</p>
<p>As for dining arrangements, the club hosts both individuals and groups. Infact, the setting is that of a cabaret, where people can dine and watch the live performance. I would definitely recommend coming here with a date. After the live performances, the guests will also be able to meet the artists backstage, get autographs, and buy some memorabilias. Dont forget to leave with an autographed CD or T-shirt (when available)!</p>

<div>
<div>Working in <a href="http://www.sakura-house.com" target="_blank">real estate in Tokyo</a> selling apartments and share houses makes it all too clear what everyone&#8217;s favorite season here is:  summer.  We get BUSY!<br />
<br />
Back home in the states, summer conjures up images of extreme heat (from South Carolina, y&#8217;all), the beach, barbecues, and friends.  Some things don&#8217;t change between back home and Japan, but some do.  Here are my favorite summer activities that anyone in Tokyo can enjoy!  Many are cheap or free, so don&#8217;t think it takes a dime to enjoy the best summer of your life in Japan.<br />
<br />
1.  Fireworks<br />
<br />
</div>
<div><a rel="attachment wp-att-12878" href="http://sakurahouse-blog.com/blog/2013/05/16/sakura-house-summer-accommodation-share-house/fireworks/"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-12878" title="fireworks" src="http://sakurahouse-blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/fireworks-650x365.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="365" /></a></div>
<div></div>
<div>The above picture, or for that matter any picture, is incapable of doing justice to Japanese fireworks displays.  In a word:  amazing.  When I first arrived here I was confused by all the buzz over fireworks; why were people so excited about it?  But then when you go and see for yourself, you understand.</div>
<div>There are many famous displays, but my favorite so far was Tsuchiura.  If you are interested, Japan Guide has a great guide to <a href="http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2267.html" target="_blank">Tokyo fireworks</a>.</div>
<div></div>
<div>2.  Festivals</div>
<div></div>
<div><a rel="attachment wp-att-12881" href="http://sakurahouse-blog.com/blog/2013/05/16/sakura-house-summer-accommodation-share-house/nebuta2/"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-12881" title="nebuta2" src="http://sakurahouse-blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/nebuta2-650x365.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="365" /></a></div>
<div></div>
<div>Maybe this should have been at the top of the list.  There are literally thousands of festivals held all over the country, and most happen during the summer.  The reasons for having them vary; some are performed to encourage a good harvest, some are done to ward off evil spirits, and there are even some more bizarre ones, like group jogging through snow and ice held yearly in Tohoku.  The great thing about festivals is that because there are so many of them, you can go no matter your schedule.</div>
<div></div>
<div><a rel="attachment wp-att-12880" href="http://sakurahouse-blog.com/blog/2013/05/16/sakura-house-summer-accommodation-share-house/nebuta/"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-12880" title="nebuta" src="http://sakurahouse-blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/nebuta-650x365.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="365" /></a></div>
<div></div>
<div>If you are living with <a href="http://www.sakura-house.com" target="_blank">Sakura House</a>, our staff can help you find out about festivals in your local area.  We also participate in Nakameguro&#8217;s Awadori festival every year, so feel free to join!  It&#8217;s the first weekend in August.</div>
<div></div>
<div>The more localized the community, the better the festival.  Some communities work and practice for weeks, months, and sometimes all year round to ensure that everything is perfect.  Even though people in Japan are often regarded as shy, during festivals people really open up, and this is a great time to meet local people and be welcomed into a culture all its own.  For some people, the festival is the one time all year where unspoken cultural rules about modesty and conformity can be tossed aside, and this is most readily evident in the heavy drinking, wild dancing, and general disregard for what normally constitutes &#8220;decent&#8221;.</div>
<div></div>
<div>The music at festivals is entrancing, unlike anything else in the world, and the visual effects are often stunning.  Here&#8217;s a behind-the-scenes picture of one neighborhood&#8217;s float.  Here, they&#8217;re putting the finishing touches on a horse and dragon.  The craftsmanship and time that go into making these things is truly remarkable.</div>
<div></div>
<div><a rel="attachment wp-att-12876" href="http://sakurahouse-blog.com/blog/2013/05/16/sakura-house-summer-accommodation-share-house/behind-the-scenes/"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-12876" title="behind the scenes" src="http://sakurahouse-blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/behind-the-scenes-650x487.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="487" /></a></div>
<div></div>
<div>So ask around, find a local festival, and experience it for yourself!</div>
<div></div>
<div>3.  Great weather and nice scenery</div>
<div></div>
<div>I&#8217;m not really a beach guy.  It&#8217;s just the honest truth.  Lucky for me, there&#8217;s plenty of beautiful places to enjoy that don&#8217;t involve getting sand and salt permanently stuck in places unmentionable.</div>
<div></div>
<div>For example, mountains.  Japan has tons of them, and they&#8217;re uniquely beautiful.  Mt. Fuji is not overrated, and is a great place to hike during the summer.  For non-natural beauty, you can see things like this:</div>
<div></div>
<div><a rel="attachment wp-att-12882" href="http://sakurahouse-blog.com/blog/2013/05/16/sakura-house-summer-accommodation-share-house/rice-art/"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-12882" title="rice art" src="http://sakurahouse-blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/rice-art-650x365.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="365" /></a></div>
<div></div>
<div>It&#8217;s art planted into a rice field.  The picture does not do it justice; it&#8217;s planted at a stretched angle, so it kind of stands out at you in 3D!  This one happens in Inakadate, a small town in Aomori Prefecture.</div>
<div></div>
<div>There are hidden gems like this all over Japan &#8212; places that don&#8217;t get much press or fame abroad, but all the locals know them.  Dig deep, because summer here is rich with things to see, and the colors in this country are vibrant, each season unique.</div>
<div></div>
<div>4.  Barbecue</div>
<div></div>
<div>Compared to the US, the idea of barbecue has a slightly different nuance.  Generally, there are no hotdogs and hamburgers to be found.  Before you open your mouth to complain, try filling it full of some of the most delicious steak in the world!  It takes some getting used to &#8212; Japanese beef is famously fattier than that in the U.S or Australia (both of which are on sale for cheaper), but it&#8217;s soft and flavorful.  A little something like this:</div>
<div></div>
<div><a rel="attachment wp-att-12879" href="http://sakurahouse-blog.com/blog/2013/05/16/sakura-house-summer-accommodation-share-house/meat/"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-12879" title="MEAT" src="http://sakurahouse-blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/MEAT-650x365.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="365" /></a></div>
<div></div>
<div></div>
<div><a rel="attachment wp-att-12875" href="http://sakurahouse-blog.com/blog/2013/05/16/sakura-house-summer-accommodation-share-house/bbq2/"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-12875" title="bbq2" src="http://sakurahouse-blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/bbq2-650x487.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="487" /></a></div>
<div></div>
<div>Barbecues happen inside or outside, in restaurants or just done privately.  Some places, like <a href="http://goo.gl/maps/p0PhL" target="_blank">Round 1 in Odaiba</a>, will prepare a grill for you (for money, of course) and let you grill on the rooftop!  Bring your own&#8230; anything!</div>
<div></div>
<div>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;</div>
<div></div>
<div>So that&#8217;s the beginners guide to a successful summer in Japan.  What awaits you?  Adventure?  Sunshine?  New friends?  Romance?  Meat?</div>
<div></div>
<div>For me, hopefully all of the above.</div>
<div></div>
<div>I could have written a lot more, so let me know what I left out by leaving a comment on posting <a href="https://www.facebook.com/SakuraHouseTokyo?ref=tn_tnmn" target="_blank">on our facebook page</a>.</div>

<p>Hi everyone !</p>
<p>Did you know that Toyota, one of the world&#8217;s leading car manufacturers has an exhibition hall in Tokyo? Its called <a href="http://www.amlux.jp/about/english.html">Amlux Tokyo</a> and it is located only 10 minutes away on foot from Ikebukuro Station. The 5-storey facility showcases several of Toyota&#8217;s latest vehicle models, its emerging technologies, its experimental vehicle prototypes, a mini-laser auditorium, a lavish cafeteria and, last but not the least, a souvenir shop. With the exhibition hall, Toyota plans to highlight its R&#038;D prowess, environmental commitments and its global reach. The vehicles are laid on the exhibition floor, free to tinker around with. However a test drive is not possible. But who wouldn&#8217;t rather check them out anyway? Do not forget to check out the Toyota partner robot while you are there (may be unavailable during certain times of the year). </p>
<p>Toyota&#8217;s manufacturing plants are mainly located in the Aichi prefecture, and its biggest Exhibition Center/Museum is located in Nagoya city. The plants are open to tourist, upon prior reservation. The facility in Tokyo are ideal for those who are pressed on time and travel opportunities. So why not go have a look?</p>

<div>Hey guys,<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
How are we all going? Good? Can&#8217;t complain the weather lately hey?<br />
<br />
I have got to attend a very interesting seminar today at the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The seminar was about how to manage and helping international tourists under disaster emergency, and was very interesting and helpful. What would you do when natural disaster occurs when you are in Tokyo, or Japan? Do you know what to do? I think many of  you don&#8217;t. The most important thing is keeping you updated with the situation. Here are some paces where you can keep yourself updated. Believe it or not that the radio still is the most reliable device in disaster. Should buy one today. They are cheap.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
You in Japan now? Earthquake is hitting? Scared? Stay indoors. Yes, where you are now. Do not panic, stay indoors and survive.<br />
